ROLL HER SLEEVES PAINTING was founded by Carolyn Jane Borer in 2009.

Carolyn apprenticed in the painting industry at an early age and went on to study Industrial Design at Carleton University and later graduated in Theatre Arts: Technical Production at Sheridan College.

While at Sheridan, she learned the techniques of faux painting for film and theatre. Immediately, Carolyn knew she had a niche; blending her residential painting skills with these creative techniques. Carolyn came back to Ottawa to start her own unique painting company while also continuing to paint sets for local companies like the The Gladstone, The Ottawa Little Theatre, The National Art Centre, and Zed Filmworks.

Leslie's background in art and graphic design, combined with her experience in construction and farming, led her to a deep love of beautifying homes and spaces.

After graduating from the Graphic Design program at Cambrian College, Leslie worked in design and printing in Ontario and Alberta. 

Leslie joined Roll Her Sleeves in 2014 and developed skills in residential painting and wallpapering. 

Together with the team, Leslie has designed and painted several public murals, storefronts, and custom residential projects. 

Elise joined the Roll Her Sleeves team in fall of 2021. Being fresh to the industry, she was trained by our experts in wallpaper and painting.

Her favourite part of working in painting and wallpaper is seeing the creative minds of the designers and clients alike, trusting the process, and having a hand in pulling the vision together. 

Elise’s friendly disposition, enthusiasm, and love of life are contagious. Her past experiences include working as a Canoe Tripper and an Outdoor Educator. Her adventurous spirit comes in very handy for those tall stairway wallpaper installations!

An athlete and a creative soul, Elise’s combination of skills, eye for detail, positive attitude, and knowledge of interior design make her an incredible asset and a joy to work with on any project.
