You are in good hands! We have wallpapered many commercial and residential spaces over the years. We are familiar with unpasted, prepasted, heavy duty vinyl, decals, wall murals and pop up wallpaper companies. And yes, we can handle those double cut wallpapers too!
We encourage anyone thinking of wallpapering to chat with us about the wallpaper you are looking at before installing. We have the knowledge to recommend what will work best for your space and give you the best result.
Important steps for the best results!
Walls must be clean and dry. Any large damage to the wall should be repaired, and new drywall (including repairs) must be primed. Sand down any bumps.
An optional but highly recommended step! Coating the walls with one-step wallpaper primer seals the wall, making eventual removal much easier. It also sizes the wall, which helps with installation and adhesion.
If the main colour of the wallpaper is drastically different from the existing colour of the wall, we recommend the wallpaper primer is tinted in a colour matching the background of the wallpaper. This is to help minimize the seams and maintain a uniform appearance for the lifetime of your wallpaper. While every effort is made to hide the seams, they can become more visible over time due to temperature and humidity changes, and some papers are particularly difficult.
Additionally, white or light-coloured wallpaper can sometimes be translucent - if your walls are not white, hold your wallpaper up to the wall to check whether the existing paint colour will show through.
In addition to wall prep, determine if your ceiling, trim & adjacent walls need work. If the ceiling has wall colour on it, it may be visible above the wallpaper. Touching up or repainting is much easier before the wallpaper is installed.
Enjoy your new wallpaper!
